What's growing well in your soggy, sodden gardens? And what are your top tactics for taking on slugs? (I've tried squashing them, sprinkling them with salt, luring them with beer, and now just toss them into a little tub of soapy water.) The slugs have enjoyed the peas, beans, beets, and lettuce. And it is difficult to get their slime off your fingers.

I just shoveled 7 loads of composted horse manure onto garden beds. Did a bit of trimming - the clematis are starting to leaf. Rhubarb is my new sign of spring; forget forsythia!
